Bespoke building projects form a significant part of the Harrison portfolio. They are wide ranging in scope and nature, from innovative energy generation to retail estate refurbishment and individually designed residential schemes. In each case, Harrison has been able to design and deliver an ideal solution to a detailed brief which encompasses a very specific set of demands.
Rockscape Energy Ltd
Rockscape Energy Ltd required an Anaerobic Digester facility – an increasing form of renewable energy - and construction work commenced in 2013 on their North Moor Farm site at Crowle. Harrison was appointed to carry out various works including drainage, silage clamp installation, access roads, pile cropping, various concrete bases and tanks, bio-bed installation and construction of a new farm office building. This technically demanding project was completed in April 2014 and the facility is now fully operational.
Anaerobic Digestion is a natural process where plant and animal materials (biomass) are broken down by micro-organisms in the absence of air. An increasing number of Anaerobic Digestion plants are being built in the UK to generate clean renewable energy. Anaerobic Digestion is also used to treat the waste produced in homes, farms, supermarkets and industries across the UK, helping to divert waste from landfill.View the embedded image gallery online at:

This one-off project required an electric sub-station built to Northern Power Grid’s specification. Harrison provided a Design & Build solution to meet the specialist technical demands required by a scheme of this type.
Harrison’s work involved groundwork to allow the forming of a concrete foundation and the creation of cable trenches enabling an electric cable feed to access and egress the building. The cables provide a link from the mains supply fed into the sub-station and out around the site plant. Harrison constructed traditional brick and blockwork walls combined with a composite panel roof. The exterior of the building also required a galvanised staircase and walkway to two elevations to allow maintenance access, this was fabricated in our own steel shop in Eastoft.View the embedded image gallery online at:
Harrison are experienced in bespoke housing projects requiring a full design, build and specification solution from the foundations upwards, but we are also experienced in bespoke extensions to existing properties. This particular example was commissioned by one of our farming clients, who saw the standard of work we achieved on his agricultural project and wanted us to apply the same standards to the design and installation of a conservatory on his residential property.
The project was another example of Harrison utilising our in-house manufacturing capabilities: all windows and doors were fabricated from timber in our joinery workshop at Eastoft, together with feature exposed trusses to add an elegant aesthetic touch. Conservatories and orangeries are now an additional part of the Harrison portfolio - we are able to provide reliable levels of craftsmanship which can be a rare commodity in the doors and windows industry.View the embedded image gallery online at:
Established in 2005, Mimosa is an exclusive independent retailer of designer homeware, kitchenware, gifts, linens and the unique authenticated Murano glass. The company individually sources all of its products, including luxury imported goods such as handmade glassware and Portuguese tableware.
Mimosa commissioned Harrison to carry out a comprehensive refurbishment of their store in Epworth, near Doncaster. We were also required to construct a new shop to the rear of the property with office accommodation above.
Janet Oldridge, Co-Owner of Mimosa, said: “Harrison performed a complete refurbishment of Mimosa’s premises and did a fantastic job. They also extended the neighbouring property in double-quick time. Their level of workmanship and attention to detail impressed me most.”View the embedded image gallery online at:
New Dormer Bungalow in Winteringham
This dormer bungalow was designed and built to provide levels of luxury and space which are rarely found in today’s new homes market. Harrison designed and constructed the property to a detailed brief outlined by the client. The design stage was an especially important process as the property is situated in a Conservation Area and its appearance needed to harmonise with its surrounding in accordance with the local authority’s requirements. The choice of external materials, including the brick finish and roof tiles, reflected the area’s vernacular architecture.
Also included in the build were many unique features, including exposed oak trusses to the sun room. Harrison utilised our in-house manufacturing capabilities to fabricate many elements of the building – including the oak trusses - in our workshop at Eastoft. This enables us to apply maximum quality control and ensure exceptional levels of craftsmanship.View the embedded image gallery online at:
